Jay Fiedler, arguably the third best quarterback in Miami Dolphins history (😐), was named the ninth best Jewish player in NFL history by the American Jewish Historical Society.

It’s perfect because he wore No. 9 in Miami.

Four-time Pro Bowl guard Ed Newman, who played for the Dolphins from 1973-1984, was ranked sixth. Also on the list is Patriots wideout Julian Edelman who once described his religious beliefs as “Jew… ish.”

Congrats, Jay and Ed, even though it’s kind of like being named one of the ten best-looking women in Alabama. See, we Jewish boys aren’t typically allowed to play competitive tackle football by our protective and worrisome mothers.

The full list is below.

  1.  Sid Luckman, QB, Chicago Bears (1939 -1950)
    2. Ron Mix, OL, Los Angeles/San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders (1960 – 1971)
    3. Benny Friedman, QB, Cleveland Bulldogs, Detroit Wolverines, New York Giants, Brooklyn Dodgers (1927 – 1934)
    4. Julian Edelman, WR, New England Patriots (2009 – current)
    5. Lyle Alzado, DL, Denver Broncos, Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles Raiders (1971 – 1985)

Remember when a game-worn Fiedler jersey was listed on Ebay for $1,000? Hopefully you cashed in at the right time.
