The Miami Hurricanes released their schedule for the 2016 football season and what immediately stings the eyes is the fact Mark Richt’s Canes play two games in a span of six days in 2016, having just four days off between an October 15 clash with North Carolina and October 20 game at Virginia Tech.
With UNC-Miami feasibly being a night game, that leaves potentially no more than 120 hours between an intra-conference rumbling of teenage skulls.
As Miami-turned-Bristolite Jorge Sedano noted on Twitter, this is “ridiculous.”

If they’re going to have a Thursday game, fine, but put it after a bye week, as they did for Miami last season and the year before. At the very least have it after a cupcake opponent if it’s going to be two games in six days. Not with back-to-back brutal ACC matchups where kids are going to be giving everything they’ve got.
The five-game stretch in October is also brutal, facing Georgia Tech, Florida State, Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Notre Dame.
