Not only did the Miami Heat throttle the New York Knicks for the third time in four tries this season on Sunday with a 98-81 thumping at Madison Square Garden but “Let’s Go Heat” chants engulfed the arena at the heart of New York City.

Naturally Knicks players like Carmelo Anthony heard it and were less than enthused, via ESPN New York.

“How could you not hear it?” he said.

Those three words — “Let’s go Heat!” — probably didn’t sit well with New York Knicks owner James Dolan. And they definitely didn’t sit well with Anthony.

“You’re home, you don’t want to hear that,” Anthony said. “I’m assuming they were all Miami Heat fans. I want to believe that. I want to think that. I don’t want to think it was New York Knicks fans. I was surprised. I was surprised, very surprised.”

Hassan Whiteside also stared down Melo after a vicious slam in the third quarter.

Also shooting 9-of-24 from the field, it was not a good day all around for Anthony.

Let’s go¬†Heat. Let’s go Heat. Let’s go Heat.
