Greg Cote, the Miami Herald columnist who once advised for the trading of Dan Marino, is at it again, ruffling some feathers dipped in controversy during the local hour of the Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz this morning when discussing Hassan Whiteside.
“He’s also prone to getting frustrated and to picking up dumb fouls and I think we still don’t quite trust Whiteside,” Cote said. “If he’s not right physically is he gonna sort of semi-intentionally pick up a foul or two to give himself some more rest?
“Again, I think if he’s not 100 percent, he’s more apt to pick up a careless foul to give himself a little rest. I may be wrong.”
So a player who clearly cares immensely about his personal box score, is going to intentionally limit his ability to pad those stats? Greg Cote is drunk.
