When will Battlefield 2042 be Released?

The battlefield team announced on Twitter that the new Battlefield 2042 would launch worldwide on November 19, 2021. The game will launch a month later than the originally stipulated date and be released two weeks after its counterpart/rival, Call of Duty: Vanguard.

The initial release date was October 22, but EA announced a date change in September owing to COVID restrictions. The team stated that the COVID 19 pandemic brought on unexpected challenges for their development team, stopping them from working in their in-person studio, which was vital to the game’s large-scale production.

What is the Price of Battlefield 2042?

As per Global Esport News news, the standard version of the game on PS4, Xbox One, and Windows cost £59.99, while the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions are valued at £69.99. There are also special versions, including Battlefield 2042 Gold Edition and Battlefield Ultimate Edition. The former is available on Windows for £89.99, while the console version costs £99.99. The Ultimate Edition, on the other hand, costs £109. 99 on Windows and £119. 99 on the console. All versions are available for pre-order. Plus, if you pre-order any of the above, you will get access to the open beta.

What are the Upgrades?

Of course, the new Battlefield 2042 is loaded with upgraded features. Here are some of the changes to expect:

  • A 128 maximum player count which is an upgrade from the previous version
  • The 128-player maps are split into sections with control points; players are expected to capture all the control points in a division to gain full control.
  • Classes have replaced specialists; classes are unique characters equipped with special gadgets and traits and have the liberty to possess any weapon or equipment loadout.
  • Specialist gadgets include a health/revive gun, a movement sensor, a grappling hook, and a wingsuit.
  • The absence of a singleplayer campaign made it the first Battlefield game to launch without a singleplayer campaign since Bad Company.
  • Absence of battle royale mode; all three launch modes of the game do not include battle royale.

There will be an Open Beta in October.

Battlefield 2042 is set to have an open beta in the first week of October. The beta will reportedly feature the Conquest game mode on the Orbital map (with 128 players on PC versions). Players will also have access to four Battlefield 2042 operators: Boris, Falck, Mackay, and Casper.

Note that EA members and players who pre-ordered the Battlefield game will have early access to the open beta. The beta will be accessible to the eligible individuals from 12 am PT/ 3 am ET on October 6. While the fully open beta is scheduled to begin on October 8 at 12 am PT/3 am ET.
