A day after Chris Bosh and the Miami Heat jointly announced he would be out for the remainder of the NBA playoffs and the Sun Sentinel’s Ira Winderman thinks the Miami Heat star is going to call it a career.
“I think Chris Bosh will never play another NBA basketball game,” Winderman said on Hochman, Crowder, and Krantz Thursday afternoon. “I believe he is capable of doing it. I believe there is too much of a risk for him to do it. He has five children at home.
“I just would like him to live his life in the best way possible instead of oh my God, Chris just got kicked in the shin, is that another clot? Oh my God, Chris just got knocked in the face, is there a chance of internal bleeding? I mean that’s real pins and needles if you’re asking that after every game… That’s not only a distraction, that’s a life-and-death concern. I don’t see how it plays out any other way and I hope Chris comes to his senses, that we love him as a player but we love him as a player also.
Ira isn’t wrong — Chris Bosh should absolutely retire, as I pleaded with him months ago.
The man has nothing left to prove and the risk far outweighs any potential reward. The last few years of his career isn’t worth his life. Family first.
