The No. 10 Miami Hurricanes are off to a nice 4-0 start and although No. 22 Florida State has struggled so far this season with two losses already, the Noles figure to provide the Canes with their most significant test to this point.

Enter the sizzling takes of Greg Cote, who probably drives down to his weekly appearance on the Dan Le Batard Show every Tuesday in a sweatsuit and a ski jacket so that when he walks into the South Beach studio, his take will be as hot as possible.

“There’s a chance they can go 12-0,” Cote said of the Canes during the local hour. “There’s a chance they can run the table if they get past Florida State. ESPN’s Football Power Index — for what it’s worth, and it’s just stats — has Miami favored to win all seven remaining games after Florida State. Yes, there’s a chance they could go 12-0. The odds are against it obviously but there is a chance. If you’re a Top 10 team and you have a realistic chance to run the table how could your fans not think you’re back”

There’s also a chance I wake up tomorrow and decide I want to be a woman but, like Cote’s take, it’s a bit unlikely.

Look, the Canes’ start is promising. They’re thriving on both sides of the ball and all indications point to the best coaching staff in over a decade. Their offense also features one of the best quarterbacks in the country.

BUT, there’s a reason typically only one or two teams in Power 5 conferences go undefeated each season, and this is before we factor in conference championship games and so forth. It’s hard!

And for all Miami has shown, there’s still so many questions. It’s highly unlikely Mark Richt rebuilds the Canes into an elite program in just one season. It’d be awesome but very unexpected.

An ACC Coastal title is the more feasible and sensible expectation.

Put Cote in the freezer.
