Poor Ryan Tannehill.

The Miami Dolphins sliced off 928 pounds of fat off of their porous offensive line in releasing Dallas Thomas, Billy Turner, and Jamil Douglas today in wake of one of the most embarrassing displays of pass “protection” the NFL has ever seen in Miami’s blowout loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

Somehow, Omar Kelly of the Sun Sentinel found a way to blame Ryan Tannehill.

Omar Kelly is Miko Grimes?

Does Tannehill often hold on to the ball too long? Sure. Is he an elite quarterback? No. Is he ever going to be better than somewhere around above-average? Unlikely.

But if you look at the career performances of those three linemen, there’s no chance in hell you can possibly say Tannehill is the reason they don’t have jobs anymore. Not with rational thought, anyway. It’s irresponsible.

Dolphins Twitter, a group in a dangerously fragile place right now, let Kelly have it for the ill-advised take, with approximately zero of the dozens of replies expressing agreement with Omar’s sentiment.screen-shot-2016-10-11-at-3-12-45-pm screen-shot-2016-10-11-at-3-12-32-pm screen-shot-2016-10-11-at-3-12-11-pm screen-shot-2016-10-11-at-3-11-56-pm
