The Miami Hurricanes are not back but they do appear to be headed in the right direction as Year 1 of the Mark Richt Era has produced an 8-4 season, with three of the four losses by a combined 11 points.

Boding well for the immediate future is the team’s batch of dynamic young talent on defense, a possible return from Brad Kaaya, and a 2017 recruiting class that is currently ranked No. 10 in the nation, according to ESPN.

Atop that class is swag-infused commit Deonte Johnson, a 6-foot-5, 240-pound defensive end from California who ESPN regards as a Top 30 recruit in the country. His tweet last night will get Canes fans hyped.

“Ima say it again,” Johnson wrote amid some apparent uncertainty regarding his commitment. “I take this cane shit serous, I’m coming for heads, we gonna kill shit, I’m a cane for life, I am the baddest mf you know.”

Miami needs more swag.
