Apparently the takes were getting a little too cold at ESPN with Skip Bayless no longer on the roster, as PTI hosts Tony Kornheiser and Mike Wilbon, the latter a notable Miami hater, unleashed on Miami Dolphins management for not practicing in the cold last week in advance of their playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
“The owner of the Miami Dolphins and the general manager of the Miami Dolphins bear 100 percent of the burden for losing this game,” Kornhesier said. “Don’t tell me you practice with cold footballs in 80-degree weather in Miami. You have a week. You go to Buffalo. You go to Minnesota. You go Youngstown. I don’t care where you go but you practice in cold weather.”
“Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and a walkthrough Saturday in the cold!” added the fire-breathing Wilbon. “Irresponsible… Anybody criticizing Miami for being in Miami on South Beach? Criticize them instead of the Giants.”
You could’ve played that game in Hawaii and Miami likely would’ve still gotten pummeled. They were sans their quarterback, center, and 75 percent of their starting secondary against the best QB-RB-WR combo in football coming off what essentially amounted to a bye week in Week 17.
You can’t tell me three extra days in cold weather would’ve made a tangible difference.
Kornheiser and Wilbon need to simmer down as this take was too hot too handle.
