Pop “Chad Henne” into the Google machine today and you’d think we went back in time as the former Miami Dolphins quarterback is somehow, in 2017, competing for a starting gig again in Jacksonville.

I guess backing up the putrid Blake Bortles can have that effect.

Well, it wasn’t that long ago that Henne was the hopeful franchise quarterback in Miami, as the man who would lead the Dolphins back to the glorious Dan Marino-led offenses of the 80s and 90s.

Old Takes Exposed reminded us of this fact by highlighting a particularly stunning Jeff Darlington tweet comparing Henne and Davone Bess to Tom Brady and Wes Welker. The current ESPN reporter was covering the Dolphins for the Miami Herald at the time.

Even team owner Stephen Ross was once quoted as saying he’s “hoping [Henne] goes down as the greatest quarterback in Miami Dolphins history.” That was just a bit outside, Steve.

Darlington and Ross weren’t the only ones with the stinky Henne takes. Today’s edition of “Remember When” is a doozy. Reporters should be thankful Twitter wasn’t as big of a thing during Miami’s Henne Era.
